I have been using BaseCamp for years so I know how to use it and what it can and cannot do. This app is essential to connect with and update Garmin GPS units. However, it is almost unuseable. It locks up and spends more time displaying beachball than providing any useful service. I have a new high spec iMac and Basecamp still defeats it. When Basecamp does work, it is great for creating routes and managing tracks and waypoints. Unfortunately the good times are few and far between. Garmin should be ashamed to let down their reasonably good GPS hardware with such terrible software.
