Description
The app is designed to aid producers in the selection of winter wheat variety that best suits their needs. The information used in this application was drawn from the Oklahoma State winter wheat variety testing program. The process of identifying the varieties that will work best for you begins with the selection of growing region. In this first one or more regions within Oklahoma can be selected. The second step is to select characteristics that are important to your production system. Three levels of priority are provided, at least one characteristic needs to be selected for Top Priority. The application will look through the varieties and find those which both meet the priorities selected and are well adapted to the regions. The results will be a list of varieties that carry only the TOP priorities, a list that includes TOP and MEDIUM priorities and then a list that includes wheat varieties that have ALL the characteristics of interest. It is possible that there may not be a variety that can meet all the characteristics for your growing environment. From the list you will be able to select a variety and learn more about it. All information utilized in this application comes from the Oklahoma State University Wheat Variety Testing Program.
