like many others, I thought this was a super cool concept and was very excited to try it on my small record collection. I have three of the most well-known album covers of all time: Dark Side of the Moon, Sgt. Pepper’s, and Abbey Road. In addition I’ve got some other classic albums (Bowie, Fleetwood Mac (not Rumours which I know does work lol), Stevie Nicks, etc.). Of all these only Abbey Road was recognised by the app. I’m not saying they should’ve focused only on classic music, but it seems a bit silly to not have expected annoyed reviews from people who wanted to try this app out on Dark Side of the Moon. I also think they should include a library/directory page where you can see what albums they do have artwork for — that might help make people’s expectations more realistic.

This app has such great potential yet is limited in scope by the developers. If artists outside of Alkanoids could use it it would have HUGE potential. I’m a painter/mixed media artist that has looked for an app to do the things this can do for some time. There is one other app that I know of, CreativeMuse, yet it’s platform is clunky and unrefined. Aria desperately needs to figure out how to make the technology available to the masses although I’ve followed them and been in contact with them for over a year and they are yet to get something together. Seems like they are losing $$$ everyday they waste not getting this into the hands of artist willing to pay for a subscription type service. Might just turn out to be a beautiful looking dud.

I have many albums yet it only animated one.. Boston’s hit album “Boston.” - was I disappointed? Not at all. I understand that the developers of this app are human, and it takes a good amount of work to create an animation for just a single album. I think this app has a lot of potential - I hope they really do something with it. But please don’t go on expecting all of your albums to suddenly be animated, chances are none of them might be - especially if most of what you own are indie or just less popular artists.. But again, for what it is it is amazing

Somehow an app for vinyl visuals only had 2 of my relatively large collection (Rumours and Abbey Road). I’m not trying to say this couldn’t be great for people who collect more modern music than I typically do (I assume the remaining music they have is modern?) but the majority of vinyl is old. I’m still somewhat baffled they didn’t have Sgt. Pepper’s as it’s not only a classic but would be a really fun illustration. Even some of my more modern indie music wasn’t there so I’m assuming most of the vinyls on there are pop which is fine but I really doubt that’s the target demographic of 3D vinyl art. Most vinyl collectors are in the older music genres or indie. I hope they work to add more albums as it’s a really cool concept though!
